Do Not Be Dismayed
I am so thankful for the Word of God. Thankful isn't strong enough... grateful, humbly indebted to the depths of my heart, in awe...In Love. "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us". The Word became flesh. Jesus Christ is the Word of God made flesh. Think about it. His precious Word is living and active. It breaths, it pierces, it divides, it judges the thoughts and actions of my heart. I want this living and active Word in me. If I can get it in me, It will do the work... It will separate my soul from spirit, my bone from marrow...It will judge my thoughts. God promises to complete the good work He has begun in us. What a promise and what a comfort. The day to day, minute by minute battles we are in are intense. Without the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, we are helpless, defenseless, prey waiting to be pounced on by a roaring lion. God give us the courage to allow our hearts to be pierced by Your Word. Give us the self control, which is a Fruit of the Spirit, to say no to the myriad of distractions in our lives that keep us from Your Word. Give us the discipline to trust Your Word, which is Truth, and to be set free by it. For when You set us free, we are free indeed. John 1:14, Hebrews 4:12, Philippians 1:6, Ephesians 6:17, 1Peter 5:8, Galatians 5:23, John 8:36. Now take up your Sword and fight.

So true! I love the point you make that once the word is in me IT will do the work. I definitely need to meditate on that concept and let it make a permanent point in my consciousness. I have forgotten the real power of the Word! Thanks for the reminder. :)
